Cape Town – The Free State Fashion Consortium has announced the return of the annual Free State Fashion Week (FSFW) after a 2-year hiatus.
Due to Covid-19’s strict regulations, FSFW took a young bow from the fashion scenes, but returns with its 5th instalment in partnership with All Black Soiree for the 2022 edition.
The prestigious fashion and lifestyle event will kick off in Bloemfontein from September 28 to October 1, 2022 under the theme “Be Human”.
The theme is inspired by surviving a global pandemic and life after the virus.
Designers will be challenged to combine it with African culture, heritage and diversity.

FSFW founder and CEO, Candy Smith said it is time to rise from what has been lost throughout the pandemic and take rightful place in society.
“I want to encourage our Fashion entrepreneurs to pause for a minute, take a deep breath and ‘Be Human’. That’s exactly what the theme of 2022 wants to achieve. Everyone in the world has gone through so much, both in their personal and business lives, that we need to take a minute just to breathe and restart with new energy. This will definitely reflect in the various designer collections this year,” said Smith.
Smith, a creative entrepreneur and award-winning businesswoman, founded the FSFW in 2016 with the aim to showcase the best and most talented designers in Free State and South Africa.

“We are elated and honoured that Candy Smith has offered us the opportunity to partner with a phenomenal brand such as FSFW, one that seeks to emancipate young people economically, creatively and socially, by breaking pre historic barriers to entry. We look forward to a long-standing partnership,” said All Black Soiree COO, Rapelang Khati.
