Cape Town – Eskom has announced it will implement daily load shedding stage 2 between 16:00 and 00:00 from Monday to Wednesday this week.
The power utility said load shedding is required to help manage emergency generation reserve during the evenings which have been identified as peak hours.
It said that further updates will be shared on Wednesday or when significant changes occur.

“Since yesterday afternoon two generation units at Grootvlei as well as a unit each at Kriel and Majuba power stations were returned to service.” the statement said.
On Sunday, the utility said it had 5 244MW on planned maintenance and 15 612MW of capacity was unavailable due to breakdowns.
