Cape Town – Former president Jacob Zuma’s son Edward Zuma has reportedly called for the removal of ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa from his position, saying the party’s dismal performance in the just-ended local government elections was a result of poor leadership.
According to IOL, Edward said this last week when ANC councillors from eThekwini and uMhlathuze municipalities visited his father.
“You know that when companies are performing badly, the board and the chief executive officer are booted out. The same thing should happen to Ramaphosa because he has done nothing while in office. You saw what happened in the local government elections,” the report quoted Edward as saying.

Local elections to choose municipal councillors on November 1 saw the African National Congress (ANC) suffer its worst showing at the ballot box since the country’s first multi-racial polls in 1994, which marked the end of apartheid.
Edward’s remarks came just a few days after another of Zuma’s sons, Duduzane, reiterated his aspirations to follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming an ANC president, saying he believed he had “something to offer” and that he might have what South Africa needs.
“I feel like I have something to offer.
“It is just taking politics from an old man and woman’s game and changing it to a young man and woman’s game,” Duduzane was quoted by The Citizen as saying.
Duduzane said he wanted to help South Africa move forward.
“I don’t want to be that guy that has an opportunity to make a difference and doesn’t take it,” he said.
