Cape Town – Cape Town International Airport was on Thursday crowned the best airport in Africa at the 2022 World Airports Awards held in Paris, France.
The airport also scooped the ‘Best Staff in Africa’ and ‘Cleanest Airport in Africa’ awards.
eNCA reported that this was the seventh consecutive year that the airport had won this title.

“These awards are a clear vote of confidence in the airport, it’s an honour to congratulate the CTIA, their team, and all those involved in making this fantastic achievement possible, especially during these trying times,” IOL quoted Provincial Minister of Finance and Economic Opportunities, Mireille Wenger as saying.

The City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, James Vos, said the award brought global attention and showed the City’s economic readiness as the awards will translate to more trade opportunities and jobs through the tourism industry, reported EWN.
