Cape Town – A clothing designer is claiming Babes Wodumo and her ‘entourage’ attacked her after she demanded the return of some clothing she had loaned to the Gqom artist’s dancers.
However the entertainer has responded that the designer was drunk and had hurled insults at her, her father and bodyguard when they arrived to discuss the matter.
According to a statement issued by the owner of Sk’Dee Designs to @maphepha_ndaba on Instagram, Babes’ crew borrowed clothing items on 28 February 2024, but neglected to honour the agreed-upon return time.
“28 February 2024, Babes Wodumo Dancers, Smiso Zulu and Sanele Smallz came to my shop, Sk’Dee Designs, to hire a few items to wear at the IFP Manifesto in Hammersdale[…] Our agreement was for them to bring back the items the next day but until today, they haven’t bought them back. They have been wearing my items ever since, knowing very well they did not pay for them.”
” Babes Wodumo and her entourage decided to come to my work place, Sk’Dee Designs to attack me after I exposed her dancers. Babes came very drunk with her dancers and assaulted me and her bouncer also assaulted my business partner, Descreet Wear.”

In response to these allegations, Babes Wodumo took to Instagram Live to address the situation, in a video shared by @Vaci_Z on X formerly known as Twitter.
“I saw a post this girl wrote about me mentioning something about clothes, so I took my father and my bouncer to ask about this. When I got there, she was already engaged in a physical altercation, and I wanted to inquire if she had been in contact with my dancers about clothes; I was puzzled as to why my name was being dragged into this. However, instead of a civil conversation, she began to hurl insults at me and my father, and she was intoxicated.”
