Cape Town – A Durban man who was allegedly kidnapped during a highjacking on Sunday was reportedly found unharmed on Monday night.
According to KwaZulu Natal police spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo, Chad Dorkin, 24, had been visiting friends in Woodford Grove, off Umgeni Road, when the incident occurred, African News Agency reported.
“The complainant alleged that on 12 June at 19:52, he was with his three friends on Woodford road when they were accosted by three unknown people. One of his friends who was in the vehicle who happened to be the owner was kidnapped and hijacked by the suspects,” the report quoted Constable Ngcobo.

Dorkin was allegedly snatched and held at different places for over 24-hours before he was released in Queen Nandi Drive, Durban reported IOL.
“I can confirm that a ransom was demanded for his release. However, due to ongoing police investigations, we are not able to disclose any further details. The abductors did not provide any motive for the kidnapping,” the report quoted Chad’s father Elton Dorking as saying.

Police and private security groups’ investigation led to the safe release of the 24-year-old who was now recovering from the trauma.
The hijacked vehicle has not been found and a police investigation continues, the report said.
