Cape Town – The South African government has published revisions to Covid-19 contact tracing, quarantine, and isolation protocols.
The revisions were published on Thursday night, with the Health Department announcing its decision to stop Covid-19 contact tracing with “immediate effect”.
“All contact tracing [are] to be stopped with immediate effect except in congregate settings and cluster outbreak situations of self-contained setting,” the department said.
The department advised that there was new information about Covid-19, including the high number of asymptomatic cases and that only a small proportion of infections were confirmed through laboratory testing.
