Cape Town – President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to address South Africans on developments in the country’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic on Sunday.
In a statement, the presidency said Ramaphosa’s address followed meetings of the National Command Council, the President’s Coordinating Council, and Cabinet.

“As South Africa rolls out its Covid–19 vaccination programme, government and social partners are continuously monitoring infection, treatment and patient recovery rates as well as compliance with health regulations and other prevention measures,” the statement said.
Ramaphosa put the country on a 14-day level 4 lockdown two weeks ago, as the coronavirus infections continued to rise particularly in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and the Western Cape.
South Africa recorded a total of 21 610 new Covid-19 infections as of Saturday, July 10.
