Cape Town – The Department of Transport has assured that OR Tambo International Airport will have sufficient fuel stocks in February.
A plan, developed by Airports Company South Africa (Acsa) and supported by multiple stakeholders, aims to stabilise fuel supply.

As of early February, the airport had 20.1 million litres of fuel, with an additional 59 million litres expected by 6 February and 71.5 million litres arriving in Durban on 5 February, bringing the total stock to 150.6 million litres.
The department also facilitated an agreement allowing airlines to access fuel from non-contracted suppliers if needed.
Minister Barbara Creecy thanked stakeholders for their cooperation during the supply challenge.
