Cape Town – The Automobile Association (AA) in South Africa predicts a significant increase in fuel prices in February.
The AA said that the recent relief in fuel prices over the past three months is coming to an end, and motorists should be prepared for higher costs.
The expected hike is estimated to be between R0.64 and R0.66 per litre for 93LP and 95LP petrol.
Diesel prices will rise by R0.63 per litre, and paraffin is expected to increase by R0.47 per litre.
“Based on these numbers, a litre of 95ULP inland will climb from its current level of R22.49 per litre to R23.15 per litre, while the price of 93ULP inland will increase from R22.17 per litre to R22.81 per litre. We again urge consumers to monitor their fuel usage carefully, and to budget according to the new fuel prices, which come into effect next Wednesday,” AA said.
Motorists are advised to monitor their fuel usage and adjust their budgets accordingly as the new prices take effect next Wednesday.
