Cape Town – Postbank has announced that social grants beneficiaries using Sassa gold cards will continue to receive their grants using their expired cards in December and subsequent months.
This decision will ensure that millions of social grants beneficiaries won’t need to switch to cards from other banks, Postbank spokesperson Bongani Diako said.
.
“This important development means that millions of social grants beneficiaries don’t have to change their Sassa gold cards to the cards of the other banks,” he said.
Diako said that payments through Sassa gold cards have been instrumental in assisting marginalised populations, especially in rural areas with limited traditional banking infrastructure.
“Guaranteeing that Sassa gold cards will work beyond December 2023 is one of the highlights of Postbank’s commitment to providing convenient and affordable service to the disadvantaged,” said Diako.
He said that Postbank is committed to providing convenient and affordable services to disadvantaged individuals, and ensuring that Sassa gold cards will work beyond December 2023 is a key part of this commitment.
