Cape Town – The Deputy Governor of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) and former head of the Prudential Authority, Kuben Naidoo, has resigned.
Naidoo has been with the SARB for a decade, serving in various capacities, including as an adviser to the governor in 2013 and as deputy governor since 2015.
His resignation is currently under consideration by President Cyril Ramaphosa, Presidency spokesperson Vincent Magwenya said.

“The South African Reserve Bank deputy governor Kuben Naidoo has expressed a desire to resign. However, the matter is still under consideration,” said Magwenya.
Prior to his SARB role, Naidoo held positions in the National Planning Commission and the National Treasury, and he holds an MBA from the University of Birmingham along with other academic qualifications.
