Cape Town – A power outage occurred at Cape Town International Airport on Saturday morning, causing inconvenience for passengers who experienced delays during the check-in process.
According to Times Live, Airports Company SA (Acsa) described the outage as “unplanned” and apologised for the inconvenience.

Although backup power supply systems were activated, a problem arose in one area, affecting the IT check-in systems and causing further delays.
Acsa has since restored power to the airport and reinstated the check-in systems.
ACSA has advised passengers in CT to make use of online check-in facilities after delays this morning due to unplanned power loss at CT International Airport. ACSA says there may still be a slight delay in manual check-in processes.#sabcnews

The source of the issue was identified as two Eskom power feeders to the airport, which have been isolated and are undergoing emergency repairs.
Passengers have been advised to utilize online check-in facilities where possible to minimize potential delays in manual check-in processes.
