Mail Online reported that the “historic sale” was concluded after the buyer viewed the mansion over FaceTime in an off-market deal that took a year to complete.
The report said the 2 800m², 8m wide home boasts six bedrooms, staffrooms, a private indoor pool and a sauna, and is located on East 68th Street, allegedly a block-and-a-half from Central Park.
According to a non-profit organisation, Friends of the Upper East Side Historic Districts the apartment was built in 1879 and redesigned in 1932.
The seller reportedly paid $16 million for the mansion back in 2012 and originally listed the property for $50m but the price went up due to the furnishings.
The historic property was previously home to a few celebrities, including Jeffrey Epstein and his former recruitment general, Ghilane Maxwell.
