Cape Town – The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) has announced significant increases in petrol prices starting from April 3.
Both grades of petrol will see substantial hikes, nearly double the previous estimates.
93 octane petrol will rise by 65 cents per litre, and 95 octane by 67 cents per litre.
Diesel prices vary slightly depending on sulphur content, with a small increase or decrease.
Illuminating paraffin will cost less, while LP Gas will see a decrease in price. The DMRE attributed the price increases to various international and local factors.
