Cape Town – South African businessman Bulelani Skaap and his wife Annette are set to open the Spade Boutique Hotel and Spa in Cape Town’s sprawling township of Khayelitsha.
According to TimesLIVE, the luxurious hotel will be the first of its kind in the township.
Annette is the CEO of this new hotel, situated in what used to be called Buyelembo in Mandela Park.
“We are pleased to introduce our new business expansion with the development of our first luxury hotel, The Spade Boutique Hotel and Spa.
“This project has been in the making since 2018 but was derailed by the global pandemic, Covid-19, which has affected the global and business community,” the report quoted Annette as saying.

The Khayelitsha Development Forum (KDF), according to News24, has welcomed the news.
“We applaud Mrs Skaap and her husband for this new venture in Khayelitsha. The vision they have adds to the potential of attracting tourists into Khayelitsha. This has the potential to raise the standard and value of properties in the area in which the hotel will be situated,” said KDF chair Ndithini Tyhido as quoted by the report..
The Spade Boutique Hotel and Spa will open its doors on Sunday, December 5.
Bulelani, also known as ‘Ace Mabheka,’ and Annette are also the owners of Khayelitsha’s famous Kwa-Ace lounge, Kwa-Ace kitchen, and Kwa-Ace eparkini.
