Cape Town – Standard Bank has appointed Group CEO Sim Tshabalala as interim Chief Executive of The Standard Bank of South Africa (SBSA) after Kenny Fihla’s resignation.
Tshabalala’s appointment, effective from 8 April, is pending regulatory approval, and he will continue leading both Standard Bank Group and the South African business, Daily Investor reported.
Additionally, Lungisa Fuzile has been appointed interim Chief Executive of Africa Regions and Offshore, also effective 8 April.
Fuzile, formerly National Treasury’s director general, currently oversees the Group’s South and Central Region. He will report to Tshabalala and join the Group Leadership Council, according to Sunday World.
Fuzile was previously CEO of Standard Bank South Africa but was reassigned in August 2024 to oversee public policy and regulation while reporting to Fihla.
