Cape Town – FlySafair is demanding a refund from Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) following significant delays caused by a three-hour fuel disruption at OR Tambo International Airport on Monday.
The airline criticised the incident as preventable and argued that ACSA failed to deliver the services covered by passenger charges included in ticket prices.
FlySafair spokesperson Kirby Gordon said that affected customers deserved their money back due to ACSA’s failure to meet its obligations.
“We believe this situation was entirely preventable and that sufficient contingency systems should have been in place to avoid this failure. This is critical infrastructure, and incidents like this should not be allowed to occur,” says Kirby Gordon, Chief Marketing Officer at FlySafair.
