Cape Town – FlySafair says it has resolved the technical issues affecting its check-in systems, which caused significant flight delays over the weekend.
Technicians worked throughout the weekend to address the global glitch, and by Sunday night, systems were fully restored.
FlySafair’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kirby Gordon, confirmed that 98% of flights on Sunday departed on time, and operations resumed normally on Monday.

“The software issue has now been resolved. Cape Town International Airport is fully operational, with upgrades at OR Tambo and King Shaka International Airports set to follow shortly,” the airline said.
Prior to the resolution, Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) advised passengers to arrive earlier than usual due to the ongoing issues, with some facing long queues at the airport.
Passengers were recommended to arrive three hours before regional flights and two hours for domestic flights.
