Cape Town – FlySafair says it is experiencing delays in some flights from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport due to icing on the wings of certain aircraft.
The delays were caused by a recent cold snap in the city, which led to snowfall.
As a result, flights departing from other airports operated by FlySafair is also experiencing knock-on delays.

“Please note that some of our flights from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg are delayed due to icing on the wings as a result of the current weather conditions. Unfortunately, this also results in knock-on delays on our other flights departing from other airports we operate from.
“We will update passengers as new departure times become available. We would like to extend our apologies to the customers of these flights for the inconvenience caused,” the airline said in a statement on Tuesday.
