Cape Town – Airlink on Tuesday announced disruptions to its daily flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town to Maputo, Mozambique, due to ongoing civil unrest.
Two early morning flights were cancelled and combined, with affected passengers placed on a later flight.
Cape Town-bound passengers were re-routed via Johannesburg.

The airline said it was monitoring the situation and would resume normal services once the situation in Mozambique stabilised.
“Airlink will continue to monitor the situation in Mozambique and in particular Maputo on a daily basis and make the necessary schedule changes or adjustments. Any changes will be communicated to booked customers via SMS notifications or the FlyAirlink App.
“The above disruptions currently affect Airlink’s night-stop flights from Cape Town and Johannesburg into Maputo and Airlink’s early-morning departures back to those destinations.
“At this time, none of Airlink’s other Mozambique services to and from Beira, Nampula, Pemba, Tete, or Vilanculos are currently affected.”
