Cape Town – Airports Company SA (Acsa) has restored runway lights and navigational aids at Cape Town International Airport after a power outage on Sunday evening.
The airport experienced a power outage on Sunday evening, which was resolved after 1am on Monday morning, enabling safe landings for aircraft.
The outage, affected runway lights, airside fire rescue, and air traffic services, led to flight delays and diversions.

Power was restored after 1am on Monday, allowing 11 aircraft to land.
Acsa said technicians were working on permanent repairs but needed a clear opportunity to complete the work.
“Acsa technicians and specialists are continuing with permanent repairs and restoration of the network,” a statement read.
