Cape Town – Fuel prices in South Africa are expected to drop in September, marking the fourth consecutive decrease this year.
The Automobile Association (AA), citing mid-month data from the Central Energy Fund (CEF), predicts a reduction of 68 cents per litre for ULP95 petrol, 63 cents for ULP93, and 52 cents for diesel.
Illuminating paraffin prices are also set to decrease by 78 cents per litre.
These decreases, driven by lower international product prices and a stronger Rand, will bring fuel costs back to levels seen at the start of the year, providing much-needed relief to consumers.
The AA also emphasised the need for a review of the fuel price formula to ensure long-term stability.
The next fuel price adjustment is scheduled for Wednesday, September 4.
