Cape Town – The South African cancer-battling radio personality, Mark Pilgrim, has taken to social media to share how his wife has been a stalwart in his journey to recovery.
Mark revealed in an earlier post that he would be spending some time in the hospital after undergoing surgical procedures.
“Surgery later this afternoon to sort out collapsed lung… and my “ICU home” for the next week or so,” he said in the caption.
Documenting his time in the hospital, Mark posted a picture of him with his wife on Instagram, envisioning a time when his battle with cancer is over.
“Hospital day 4… with my Adrienne by my side. ❤️,” he said in the caption.
“One day, as we sip cocktails on the beach, with our toes in the sand and the girls laughing in the background, we’ll look back at these past months and say that this was one hell of a journey… and we got through it,” he added.

Mark gave another update the next day, taking followers through his day 5 experience.
“A quick update on Day 5. Surgery was last Thursday to re-inflate lung and drain fluid.
“Now it’s another 7-10 days or so in hospital, connected to drips and tubes preparing for next procedure which will keep the lung inflated for good. I’m already breathing so much better. Thanks for all the wishes!”
