Cape Town – Mac G and DJ Maphorisa have found themselves in a heated rivalry after the amapiano DJ said he would “beat Mac G up” when he sees him again.
Speaking on his podcast called ‘Podcast and Chill with Mac G’, Mac G said he was continually asked whether he had approached Maphorisa about his upcoming EP, according to IOL.
Mac G called Maphorisa an “amapiano gatekeeper” and seemingly wanted nothing to do with the DJ.
“Let me tell you a story about gatekeeping. There is someone who told me that Maphorisa is going to be mad that I am dropping an EP, and I did not ask for his approval. Now, I must ask Maphorisa before I drop an EP. They said Maphorisa is going to be mad because I did not ask for his approval because he is a gatekeeper.” MacG said.
The outburst clearly caught Maphorisa by surprise and he took to Twitter to ask the podcast host what his problem was, and why he seemed to be attacking him.
