Cape Town – American music mogul and rapper Kanye West has slammed South African comedian Trevor Noah for raising his concerns about the on-going conflict between him (Kanye) and his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian and her new beau, Pete Davidson.
Trevor recently dedicated a ten-minute long segment on his late night show, The Daily Show, to address his concerns over Kanye’s mental health and his constant “harassment” on his ex-wife and her current partner.
“What she is going through is terrifying to watch, and it shines a spotlight on what so many women go through when they choose to leave. What we’re seeing is one of the most powerful, one of the richest women in the world, unable to get her ex to stop texting her, to stop chasing after her, to stop harassing her,” said Trevor.

According to TimesLive, Kanye took to Instagram on Wednesday to post a snap of Trevor with a caption of a song titled “Kumbaya“.
“All in together now. Koon baya my lord koon baya Koon baya my lord Koon baya Oooo’ lord Koon baya,” read Kanye’s caption.
A New York Times report said the first original recording of the song was in 1926 by a Gullah Geechee man named H Wylie and loosely translated it simply means “a call to God to come and help the people as they faced oppression”.
Meanwhile, according to Channel24, Meta – the company that owns Instagram has suspended Kanye’s account for 24 hours “for violating company policies on hate speech, bullying and harassment”.
The report states that although it is not clear which posts from Kanye violated the company’s policies, his most recent post is the one where he allegedly used a “racial slur” towards Trevor.

Tweeps weighed in:
Sure. Statistically more likely. But obviously some people will fall into that statistical minority. And Kanye is being abusive. The notion that he’s just fighting for his kids is laughable—the dude posted just about Pete—not his kids, Pete—more than 50 times in one day.

Trevor, how did you become so wise at such a young age? I am twice your age and it took me far longer to gain that much wisdom, depth, and empathy. Not only do I love your humor, but I greatly respect your character.

We are South African. Trevor Noah is right about this issue. We live in a country where we see the results of such behaviour daily. We literally had a nurse who died in her place of employment, because her ex-partner couldn’t take no for an answer. Facts.
