Cape Town – We are still on a high!
This was part of what former South African media personality and entrepreneur Basetsana Kumalo said after her husband, Romeo completed the Comrades marathon in Durban over the weekend.
At least 15 000 people took part in the race, with an average completion time of 10 hours and 18 minutes.
The Comrades ultra marathon was first run in 1921 and is staged annually between the cities of Durban and Pietermaritzburg in the eastern KwaZulu-Natal province.
Basetsane took to her Instagram timeline and posted a video in which their daughter Bontle ba Morena Jasmine told her father that she missed him.
“…I waited and waited, and said when is daddy coming,” Bontle can be heard telling her dad in the video, which her mum captioned: “No caption need… okay then, just the fact that we still on a high.”

Basetsana then posted another video that showed Romeo at the finishing line and she wrote:
“Congratulations, my love….. 9hr53! You are simply amazing! Well done to you! No mean feat,” she wrote, jokingly adding that she was “finished” from running the whole day.
