Johannesburg — South Africa’s biggest music sensation at the moment, Tyla, has addressed the rumours that she and Nigerian star, Rema, are dating.
Tyla has had a year to remember as her hit song, Water, has been trending worldwide, charting on the famous Billboard Top 100 and also leading to a TikTok trend called the Water Challenge.
However, Tyla has now made headlines away from her music talents as she addressed the rumours of her and Rema being romantically involved. She appeared on The Dotty Show on Apple Music where she spoke about her music and flying the SA flag internationally.
She was asked a candid question about which celebrity she would most like to take her to prom, and she replied with Rema.
“Rema would be cute, vibes yeah.” she said.

She was then asked about the images that surfaced of her and Rema hanging out together last year, but she was quick to refute those claims and said they were just friends.
“That was so dramatic. Like, after that situation, I realised ‘Hollywood vibes’, like you can’t trust everything you see, because that looked like a scandal, even I started believing ‘hey, what’s happening over here but yeah, we’re just friends.” she said.
She also spoke proudly about being a South African and added that amapiano has really taken the world by storm, The South African reported.
“Yoh, it’s a flex. Like, I keep saying it like, it’s such a flex to be from South Africa, especially right now.”
“Everyone has the sense of pride for our country and we are always bragging about it(amapiano).
“We know that we have the sauce, the parties in South Africa are crazy and yeah, I’m just happy that I’m able to be one of the artists to push it more.” she added.
