Cape Town – Tweeps were not impressed with South African artist, Nicole Magolie’s rendition of the National Anthem.
Nicole sang the anthem before the Springbok’s test match against Italy on Saturday.
Tweeps were irritated by what some described as “the slowest rendition in history”.
United, the tweeps called for Nicole to “Please never sing the National Anthem again” in a post on Twitter.
In her defence, Nicole blamed the conductor for starting off slow.
“Unfortunately, the conductor started too slow, I tried to pick up the speed but I had to follow the band. The acoustics also had a delayed effect on everyone involved. But the most important thing is the emotional aspect,” said the singer.

Absolutely disgraceful. Singing at 0.33x speed with shameful pronunciation of every language.
Well played Italy. Clearly done on purpose.— chemicallymark (@chemicallymark) November 19, 2022

I was wondering if the band maybe played the anthem deliberately so slow to force her to sing it slow. That was BAD!
