Cape Town – Award-winning South African comedian and TV host Trevor Noah has taken a swipe at American reality TV star Kim Kardashian’s stance on women in business.
The Kardashian Klan recently had an in depth interview with Variety magazine where they discussed a variety of topics, including ways of making money, their reality TV series and their prolific lifestyle brands.
When asked about what sort of advice they would give women in business to be in their top-tier range, Kim chimed in and said:
“I have the best advice for women in business. Get your f**cking ass up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days,” Variety quoted Kim as saying.

The stance caused a mixed reaction on social media platforms, with some saying that Kim came into fame with a silver spoon already in her mouth.
Trevor said that Kim’s stance on women was “condescending”.
“Here’s the thing that maybe Kim Kardashian doesn’t understand. It can come off as extremely condescending to tell women the reason they are not successful is because they are too lazy to get off their a*ses and actually work. Because, yes, Kim Kardashian works hard but you know who else works hard? Women. But you know what a*ses don’t have? It’s Kim’s luck to be born into a rich family,” said Trevor on his Daily Show.

Trevor said that some women didn’t have Kim’s luck to be born into a rich family with a famous lawyer parent and an even more famous Olympian step-parent and all the connections that can afford one.
“If you’re lucky to have that, then there’s a good chance that your hard work is going to make you successful. But don’t forget how much luck has to do with that success. A lot of people work hard but they are still broke. In fact, the broker you are, the harder you probably work,” said Trevor.
Tweeps weighed in:
We also cannot ignore/discount a patriarchal society in which females are taught at a very young age their value is based on their appearance (and ultimately no matter how they look they can always look “better” or “prettier” if they just _______). And that patriarchy teaches /1

Kim’s first business was selling rich people’s old clothes on EBay, then she became Brandy’s assistant. She was sued by Brandy for stealing over 100k off her credit card.
Please tell me again how hard Kim works in business.— Jennifer Lee ??☮️ (@jv241994) March 11, 2022
She has this natural defensiveness “I work hard” – okay. But you also don’t HAVE to, you’ve never experienced the anxiety and exhaustion that comes from living paycheck to paycheck, not sure if you can pay rent, groceries. Opportunities opened to her that were closed to others.

On the subject of if she works hard: I don’t agree. I doubt Kim has ever spent a real day of hard graft in her life and is in such an ultra privileged position that she is able to dictate exactly how she spends her time. Just because she is busy doesn’t mean she works hard.

Kim Kardashian doesn’t know what it means to work hard. Especially physical work for 8-12 hrs a day 6-7 days a week with no choice to take off! ?
