Cape Town – Two of South Africa’s pride who are crashing it internationally, Trevor Noah and actress Thuso Mbedu shared the stage on the The Daily Show.
Trevor Noah hosted The Woman King actress in the latest episode of the talk show where she talked about her role in the historic movie and how she planned to create social impact in South Africa through her production deal with the streaming platform Paramount+.
Noah gave the actress a warm welcome and expressed his excitement to have Mbedu on the show.
“I’m excited to have you here… This is so amazing. South African, South African,” said Noah, pointing to the actress and himself.
“And not just a South African. A South African who is absolutely crushing it in everything that you do. Congratulations.” he said.
Noah also complimented the actress’ acting skills and dug a little deeper into how Thuso got herself physically ready for the role.
They then went on to discuss the rigorous training schedule the cast of The Woman King had to endure, while Noah poked fun and made jokes about the actress, describing her as “that kid in class”.
The pair also chatted about Mbedu’s newly signed contract with Paramount+.
Mbedu described the visit to the talk show as a “highlight” of what had been an “awesome” year in a tweet.
