Cape Town — South African artist Nadia Nakai has expressed much grief at the loss of her boyfriend Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes, revealing that she is struggling to cope.
Nakai took to Instagram to let her followers know that she is not doing well, saying that the “pain is too much to bear”.
“This pain is just too much to bare, everyone says it’s something I will learn to live with. I just don’t believe it. Everyday it just gets worse. I don’t know how to deal with this,” she wrote.
“Saying it hurts doesn’t explain the level of this pain. This hole in my heart will never be filled. People go through heartache and are held together through their grieve by their partner.
“How do I deal with the grief of losing my partner, the person that was supposed to support me is who I’ve lost. God, I miss you Kiernan.”

Nakai and AKA dated for a year before he was shot and killed outside of a restaurant on Florida Road in Durban last month.
Nakai’s followers took to the comment section in an attempt to console her.
“It will take years for u to completely heal Dear Nadia…it’s ok to be angry n grieve the loss of ur partner, ur everything, ur motivator n supporter. U need to pray harder , it won’t make sense at all but one day u learn to live n celebrate his life. These memories will carry u thru. I went thru the same in 2020, I almost died due to stress, but here I am now, Happy n every time I look at our pictures together I smile n swear at him gore I wonder where will we be this Year?”
“It never gets better with time but you will learn how to live with it. God will guide you!!! Take it easy on yourself.”
“Speaking from experience you learn to live with it over many many many years after. For now just weep until you can’t anymore. Sending you love and light your way?❤️.”
