Cape Town – South African singer, kelly Khumalo, opened up on her past relationship with rapper Chad Da Don, displaying an air of regret when reflecting on her time with him.
In an interview with presenters Dineo Ranaka & Sol Phenduka on Kaya 959, Sol asked the singer about Chad and her reply was humorous, with an air of nausea.
“Euuew, Sol! This is my platform. Respect me and my effort for waking up at 6 – in fact 4am – to be here,” Kelly said.
After brushing her anguish aside with some laughter, she proceeded to explain that she was in a weird space prior to, and during her relationship with the South African Hip-Hop artist.
“The things we do when we are in a weird space… yoh! When you are in a weird space, step back and don’t do anything. Because whatever decisions you make at that particular time, you are going to regret,” she said.
Kelly alluded to the fact that deciding to be with Chad was a mistake she made due to being in a weird space, feeling as though she had been left behind.
“I think I was in that space of being ‘I’m left behind’ or ‘there’s a space here, I’m trying to fill up a gap’, not knowing that the space I’m trying to fill up is within myself and it needs me.”
Despite her regretful feelings towards her relationship with the rapper and other relationships in her past, Kelly did not seem as if she had shunned entirely the idea of getting romantically involved with someone again.
“I will never stop falling in love”, she said, “Personally I believe we were created by love for love.”
“So at every corner, we should be love, we should love,” the singer said.
