Cape Town – Internationally acclaimed comedian and outgoing Daily Show host Trevor Noah has dismisses rumours surrounding his departure from the American television show.
After his seven-year reign as host of The Daily Show, Trevor announced his exit from the show last week.
He indicated that he wanted to spend more time exploring stand-up comedy.
“After 7 years, I feel like it’s time. I spent two years in my apartment, not on the road. Stand-up was done, and when I got back out there again, I realised that there’s another part of my life that I want to carry on exploring,” he said.
His departure announcement came amid dating rumours between the him and singer, Duo Lipa.

The two were spotted cosy hugging and kissing on a night out in New York City and pictures of their night out trended on social media fueling rumours that the two are dating.
However, in a video shared on The Daily Show’s Instagram page, the comedian denied rumours he was leaving the show because of the singer.
“That is not how it happened. Please do not believe anything you read in the tabloids. It’s not true,” Trevor told The Daily Show correspondent Roy Wood Jr.
In a segment of Between the Scenes that The Daily Show shared on social media, Trevor reflected on what he missed doing most over the past seven years and what he looks forward to doing when his chapter with the show concludes.

He revealed he was looking forward to “living a little more, growing and trying new things”.
“I missed people. I missed two years of people’s lives, I missed two years of eating food in South Africa, I missed two years of travelling with my family and friends,” he said.
“There’s one thing if you never get back, and that’s time,” the South African comedian said.
“What I really lost during that 7 years was time,” he said.
“Because of that, I now find myself excited at getting back to doing a few of the things I did around the world which I really loved,” said Trevor.
