Cape Town – Somizi Mhlongo recently took to Instagram to share with his 4.4 million followers how he has developed fear towards the notorious Johannesburg CBD.
In a video clip, he can be seen parking his opulent car on the side of the road while sharing with his legion of followers how much the CBD vicinity has changed over the years.
“It’s as if I didn’t grow up around here. I grew up coming here with my parents every Saturday,” he says.

He says he has parked to move his parcels to the back of the car away from public view lest the parcels draw unwarranted attention from those on the prowl.

“I have stopped so I can put things at the back, at the boot, before they see me because wow. This place,” he says, as his camera moves to show Louise Vuitton bags perched on the front seat.
Somizi says he would feel safer walking at the Kruger National Park meeting lions, tigers and snakes than walking in the CBD.
“It’s an extreme sport driving like this,” he says.
