Cape Town – Flamboyant South African media personality Somizi Mhlongo has revealed how stressed he was in the lead-up to his Golden Jubilee party held at Sun City in January.
Before the big event, Somizi hosted a huge birthday bash on 23 December 2022, his actual birthday. It was held at Reign restaurant in Kempton Park, and guests had to don all-black formal wear.
Posting in his famous Instagram bathroom series, Somizi said he had many doubts about hosting the Golden Jubilee event.

“The celebration was meant to take place on the 28th of Jan, but about three to four weeks leading up to the 28th of Jan, we had to postpone due to technical difficulties,” he said.
Somizi said he was then stressed that tickets were not selling, but his business partner Tebogo assured him that everything would be okay.
“I start getting anxiety, I start regretting why I did this, because there’s a lot of issues. Financially it’s costing, logistically it’s costly, logistically it’s costly, dealing with artists, it’s costly.”
He even started to doubt his faith in God, he said.
However, on the day of the party things started looking brighter, with VIP tickets selling out and general ticket sales picking up too.
