Cape Town – Twitter was abuzz with mixed reactions from fans of the late South African hip-hop sensation Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes after a video of a grave digger recording his empty grave went viral.
AKA, also known to his fans as Supamega, died on February 10 after he was gunned down outside Durban restaurant Wish on Florida.
He was 35.
No arrests have been made since his shooting.
The award-winning rapper’s life was honoured with a public memorial on Friday, February 17, at the Sandton Convention Centre. He was laid to rest on Saturday at Westpark Cemetery in Johannesburg.
AKA was buried at the Heroes Acre alongside other celebrities and politicians, in a private ceremony.
In a video posted to Twitter, the grave digger can be seen filming the site where AKA was meant to be buried. His tombstone can also be seen covered up but the gravesite plot is wide open, showing the hole dug for his coffin.
“SHOCKING | Grave digger under fire for recording AKA empty grave during the set up for the slain Superstar and posting it on TikTok. #RIPAKA #RIPakaworldwide SIM DOPE Zinhle NOTA Cassper,” the tweet said alongside the video.
