Looking positively gleeful, Queen Elizabeth II wielded a curved sword to cut a sheet cake last week at an event for the just ended G7 Summit in Cornwell, England.
Reports said the event was organised by educational charity, Eden Project.
The Queen was presented with the cake and handed a sword by the Lord-Lieutenant of Cornwall, Edward Bolitho to cut it.
According to CNN, she smiled and joked with Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall as she swapped a knife for the longer blade to slice through the cake.
When told that there was a knife available if needed, the queen quipped, “I know there is!”, before proceeding to cut the cake with the sword.
She added: “This is something that is more unusual.”
Eonline.com said the queen appeared to be in great spirits all day, showcasing huge smiles as she met guests, including US President Joe Biden and his wife Jill.
It marked her second public event since attending her husband Prince Philip’s funeral in April.
