Cape Town – South African rapper Nasty C has opened up about working with musicians AKA and Cassper Nyovest, particularly at the “height of their beef”.
The award-winning rapper, whose real name is Ntsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo, spoke about his experience working with both rappers in an interview on podcast The Episode.
Nasty C had this to say when he was asked about making music with both rappers:
“They’re like, ‘What’s it like having songs with both these guys?’ I said, ‘Yo, the track with Cassper and Anatii was dope because it was like we were just vibing. It was at a hotel. We were just vibing.”
“Then with AKA there was a little bit of tension … like what are we doing, are we rapping?” he said, describing producing a song with the artist.
He said his wish to work with AKA without any tension became a reality when they collaborated on Lemons [Lemonade].
“I was like I wish one day we can just make a fun song and then there it goes, now we have it,” said Nasty C.
Just last month, AKA indicated that he was over the beef with Cassper and regretted how he handled things at the time, reported TimesLIVE.
“You know, I look back now and I’m not proud of moments like that [slapping Cassper]. Now that I’m a bit older and I’ve gone through some sh*t in my life I’m actually not proud of it. Also, I’m not proud of swearing at his parents and I owe them an apology,” the report quoted AKA as saying.
