Cape Town – Nasty C is enjoying great success in his career. The rapper is currently living in the US, where he is signed to Def Jam Recordings, and is trying to establish a name for himself outside of South Africa.
He recently had an interview with Saige Jones in New York. In a very light-hearted spirit while on a walk through the city, Saige questioned him about many different things that led him to the current stage of his life.
Nasty C touched on everything from growing up in Durban, dealing with the loss of his mother, how music helped him escape troubles he faced in his youth, as well as his ambitions while in the US.
In one snippet, Saige asked him whether he had bought anything noteworthy with his first big cheque, and the rapper had mixed feelings about his first big payments.

“I bought an apartment that I’ve been leasing out, that was my first key so that was a good one. A terrible one was buying an expensive watch. It did what I wanted it to to do, I always wanted a Rolex. I wanted that satisfaction and it was everything I wanted it to be.”
The rapper said it was a stupid payment and he regretted it, even more so after it was stolen.
“It wasn’t necessary, it was stupid , … I got robbed, it was like a house invasion, and I’m just like man that was dumb.”
