Cape Town – A performance by singer Naledi Aphiwe at Mthandeni’s Summer Experience in KwaZulu-Natal turned chaotic when she was attacked on stage by an angry crowd.
Bottles and paper cups were thrown at Naledi after her team interrupted “Gatsheni,” who was already performing.
A video circulating online shows Naledi and her team stepping on stage, prompting Gatsheni and his dancers to leave.
As she continued singing, the crowd’s anger escalated, forcing her to be swiftly escorted off the stage while shielding herself from flying objects.

The incident appears to stem from the crowd’s frustration over Gatsheni’s abrupt removal.
The attack has sparked mixed reactions online, with some condemning the audience’s behaviour as disgraceful and unsafe, while others criticised the disruption of Gatsheni’s performance.
Fans expressed concern for Naledi’s safety and frustration over the ongoing negativity surrounding her career.
Her manager did not plan this propeply. You cant force artist to go perform while other artist is still in stage. This angered the crowd cause it was still their favourite artist Gatsheni who was still performing. Throwing bottles is not right though. Poor planning by her manager

Shameful behavior from the crowd. Imagine someone throwing bottles at your child just trying to showcase their talent. Le sele lona

That’s terrible and completely unacceptable. No one should ever feel unsafe while performing. Hopefully, the incident is addressed and the focus can return to supporting artists, not disrupting their work.
