Cape Town — The Galaxy 947 Joburg Day took place this past weekend and was filled with many high emotions, as Nadia Nakai and Kairo Forbes performed a tribute to the late AKA.
Nadia had given fans a teaser ahead of her performance, as she uploaded a clip on her Instagram timeline, practising her tribute performance alongside the Mega Band.
The event, held in AKA’s honour, brought out a star-studded lineup and it was Nadia and Kairo’s performance that was the highlight. Nadia praised Kairo for her courage to get on stage and perform with her.

As the duo took to the stage at Galaxy 947 Joburg Day, the atmosphere was electric. With the backdrop of the Johannesburg skyline, Nakai and Forbes delivered a powerful rendition that paid homage to AKA’s legacy. The audience was visibly moved, and social media was flooded with heartfelt reactions, The South African reported.
Many attendees and followers expressed their love for Nakai and Forbes, applauding their resilience and strength during this difficult time.
