Cape Town – Miss South Africa Lalela Mswane on Friday dazzled the Miss Universe competition in Israel with her ‘Dove of peace” costume.
According to Channel24, the Miss Universe pageant hosted a National Costume Show in which competitors were given the opportunity to honour and celebrate their countries.
Mswane wore a white bodysuit with subtle feathers printed to serve as a base for the feathered arms covered in white pheasant feathers that transformed her into a “dove of peace”, representing South Africa’s spirit of ubuntu.

Mswane took to her Instagram page to express her love for South Africa and to thank the costume department that made her stunning costume.
“The Dove of Peace represented my beautiful South Africa , culture and its spirit of Ubuntu. A nation that has shown that lasting peace can be achieved. I was honoured to bring this message of hope to the global stage. I was dressed in a white bodysuit with subtle feathers printed to serve as a base for the feathered arms covered in white pheasant feathers to transform me into a dove of peace. This masterpiece was created by @the_costume_dept , no fitting was had might I add. My heart is extremely grateful,” wrote Mswane in an Instagram post.
