Cape Town – Media personality and TV host, Minnie Dlamini’s skincare products have been discontinued after MD Body SA came to an abrupt end of its road.
This came after City Press reported that the former Homeground presenter’s skincare company, had outstanding annual tax returns.
The report said that the star received many emails in 2018 and in 2020 before the company was flagged for deregistration due to annual return non-compliance.
Minnie confirmed the business was liquidated during her chat with Nono D on her YouTube channel recently.
She said the failed business venture gave her an opportunity to learn and do things better on the business front.
“MD Body SA has come to an end, unfortunately. I had to liquidate the company. Things happen. You work with people, it does not always end that well. It was a great learning curve for me and with everything that happens in life, I always say that it is a learning curve and an opportunity to learn how to do things better,” she said.
The beauty range was launched in June 2019 and boasted eviolin-enriched body lotions, soaps and body washes in three variants of cocoa crystal, rose quartz and tropical topaz. The products retailed for between R15 and R39.

The media personality recently launched a luxurious bar lounge, The Mansion.
The new establishment in Centurion opened its doors earlier this month.
“I love partying in the north, the clubs are in the north, so for me it was about how do we bring that energy and that vibe into the Centurion area, because there’s a lot of people that live this side and I thought it would be really cool to expand the footprint,” TshisaLIVE quoted Minnie as saying.
She said that equity and brand ownership doesn’t necessarily translate to profits.
“That experience taught me what retail space looks like. Who are the people that make the most money. You know, we get so excited about owning equity and owning a brand, but that might not necessarily be where the money is,” she said.
