Cape Town — South African actress Minnie Dlamini appeared on DJ Fresh’s podcast and she gave listeners an insight into how she’s dealing with her divorce and the difficulties of being a single parent.
Minnie had a highly-publicised wedding and marriage to former football player-turned-producer Quinton Jones. The two wed in 2017 and and after four years of marriage and one child together, they split and went their separate ways, The South African reported.
Minnie has been trying to get back to feeling like her usual self again and after appearing on DJ Fresh’s WAW! What A Week podcast, she said playing the character Lou in the movie The Honeymoon felt similar to her own situation.
“Funny enough, when I started playing Lou and she was going through her character journey, my marriage was over. A lot of the emotions Lu was going through in the film, I could relate to. Some [of the emotions] did make me feel some kind of way. I kind of feel like Lou was a bit of therapy for me because she went through a really cool journey of finding herself in this film and that’s kind of where I am now,” she said.
