Cape Town – South African musician and record producer King Monada, real name Khutso Steven Kgatle, has apologised to his fans after a viral video of him slapping a fan mid-performance made rounds on Twitter earlier this week.
In the video, Monada is seen slapping a fan in the audience after the unknown person touched his genitals during a performance.
According to Times Live, Monada was performing at Industrial Shisanyama, Polokwane, Limpopo on Saturday last week when the incident occurred.

Although he still felt like the fan was out of order, Monada through his manager, Albert Makwela, apologised for his reaction.

“He’s apologetic about what happened because it is not how he deals with things. He likes playing with his fans but he did not anticipate that one person would focus on pulling down his pants. It’s quite immoral for the fan to do that. You could do anything but to hold his private part was too much,” the report quoted Makwela as saying.
Twitter users also chimed in and defended Monada, deeming the fan’s action wrong.
