Cape Town – Afrikaans singer and songwriter Karlien van Jaarsveld has taken to social media to share her final goodbye to her children’s nanny, Bingo, who has decided to retire after years of service.
According to The South African, Bingo took care of the singer’s four children; twins Daniel and Eliah, daughter Eliah and toddler Johannes Samuel.
Jaarsveld took to her Instagram page to post an emotional “final goodbye” video.
In the clip, Jaarsveld is seen washing Bingo’s feet while being emotional, thanking her for her compassion and care for her children, husband and herself.
“You did so much for me and my kids and I am going to miss you so much. I don’t know where I am going to find another good woman like you. I love you so much,” said Jaarsveld in the video.
She also wrote in Afrikaans in an Instagram post saying: “Bingo is tired and has decided to finish the year with work, she is going home. I will never forget how I prayed for you and how you came to me and enriched me and Joe and the children’s lives. You were a messenger. You were a grandmother to them and a mother to me. You woke up late at night with me and immediately knew if something was bothering my heart without me having to say anything.
“You immediately took my hands and prayed for me. You never said no when I asked for your help. You came to teach me about serviceability, and how true joy lives, not in things, but in the least. I know how you pray for Elah to be healed. I know you’re praying for the twins’ hearts. I know you pray for your sister Violet’s soft heart and strong hands, and I hope you know I pray for you too. I greet you with eyes full of tears, but with the greatest gratitude in my heart that I was so privileged to be able to walk the path with you. Our bunch are going to miss you VERY MUCH Bingo !!.”
