Cape Town – Media personality Somizi Mhlongo’s friend and musician Vusi Nova has reportedly revealed that he was never a fan of Somizi’s estranged husband Mohale Motaung, but rather tolerated him because his friend loved him.
Vusi reportedly made this comment on season 5 of Somizi’s reality show, Living the Dream with Somizi, which premiered on Showmax on Wednesday.
In a clip released by Showmax on Instagram, Somizi can be heard admitting to listening to Mohale’s voice recording that went viral in 2021 for the first time.
In the recording, Mohale claimed that Somizi broke his ribs and nearly knocked out his two teeth in a jealously-fueled domestic dispute in their Joburg home in 2020.
“I’ve never had the time and energy to listen to the recording and this is the first time I’m listening to it,” said Somizi.

Drum stated that when Vusi asked Somizi why he thought Mohale would accuse him of such, he said it was for money.
“He was probably promised money for a special of some sort. So, they wanted to check content, because he wouldn’t have content without me, not realizing what it would do to my reputation and my work,” Somizi said as quoted by the report.
Vusi later admitted that he disliked Mohale and his relationship with Somizi but tolerated it.

“I did not like Mohale. I only tolerated him because Somizi liked him so much, but he never got that love back.
“You kind of lost yourself in the relationship. Somewhere halfway after meeting this boy you changed. Now you are back to yourself,” the report quoted Vusi as saying.
Vusi’s comment on the show about Mohale received mixed reactions on Twitter with some praising him for being a good friend while others did not.
