Cape Town – South African award-winning singer Lira is making impressive progress after suffering a stroke three months ago.
Lerato Moipone Molapo best known as Lira suffered a stroke while in Germany for a performance in April.
She took to her Instagram to share her remarkable progress with her fans letting them know that she can now speak and read after the stroke affected her speech.
She shared a video clip of one of her performances of her song, Something Inside So Strong to a packed audience singing along with her.

“Yesterday marked three months since I had a stroke. I’ve made such awesome progress — I’m proud of myself and I give thanks to God.
“Your prayers have been massively appreciated. I can talk now, though I need a little patience. I can read and I can write. So much love for me, makes me emotional. I am doing so well! With much love,” she wrote.
Since her stroke, Lira has kept her fans updated on her healing journey and thanked them for their prayers.
Earlier this month she announced her SAMA28 nomination in the Best Remix of the Year category for her collaboration with DJ Maphorisa on her song Feel Good.
Local and international singers such as Yvonne Chakachaka and Kenny Latimore including media mogul Connie Ferguson were happy for the singer and promised to keep her in their prayers as she make full recovery.
