Cape Town – Gugu Gumede, known for her role as Mamlambo on Uzalo, recently showcased her dramatic weight loss on Instagram by sharing before and after photos and videos.
She revealed in May this year that she lost over 20 kg in two months following gastric sleeve surgery, which she opted for to control her food portions.
Gugu said that while surgery worked for her, it’s not the only solution, as everyone’s lifestyle and needs are different, The Citizen reported.
“I wanted to get the gastric sleeve because I wanted to limit the amount of food that I was eating. I wanted the portion control to be there.
“I don’t want to say to people that surgery is the only option because we have different things going on in our lives, and we have different lifestyles,” the report quoted her as saying at the time.

The actress, who underwent the surgery in January, expressed satisfaction with the results.
According to The South African, Gugu has recently landed a role in Netflix’s Umjolo: The Gone Girl and starred in e.tv’s Isiphetho: Destiny.
